Noella Wiyaala known under the stage name Wiyaala is Ghanaian Afro pop singer-songwriter who sings in her native Sissala and Waale dialects and English, often combining all three languages within her songs.
She has attained public renown with her single “Make Me Dance”, “Africa”, “Rock My Body” and her androgynous image. “Make Me Dance” and “Africa” became a household tune, and played all over in the country.
After making her name through Vodafon Icon reality show, she established a solo career in 2013 with the hit single “Rock My Body”, which won her two awards at the 2014 first edition of the All Africa Music Awards, the Most Promising Artiste in Africa and Revelation of The African Continent. Wiyaala is also associated with UNICEF Ghana and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection of Ghana in campaigns against child marriage, child poverty, health and sanitation.
Wiyala is doing so well as a young songstress, putting Ghana name on the map, the young energetic girl “Lioness of Africa”. And I believe she needs a lot of support and push from the country, but seems not.
Today the Upper West songstress Wiyaala will be touring more than 10 different countries, The tour kicks off with a warm up show, in Slovenia at Ljubjana, Celica Hostel on the 14th May and then stops off at Africa Day Concert, MOFA, Ljubjana, Slovenia on the 15th May, then moves to London on 22nd May, for Concert, Wiyaala & The Refugee Choir, then to a festival show on 30th May, New World Festival, Wiyaala & Patchbay in Dimona, Israel and many more.
