The 7th Parliament of the 4th republic was dissolved yesterday, January 06, 2021 and the newly elected members were waiting to be sworn into the 8th Parliament.
This is to be done ahead of the President elect’s swearing in which can only take place in the 8th Parliament.
Just when everyone was getting ready to take sits and about 35 minutes to the main events, a scuffle broke out between between NDC’s Hon. John Jinapo, MP- elect for Yapei Kusawgu and NPP’s Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi, MP- elect for New Juabeng South.
No one could tell what Hon. John Jinapor actually told the New Juabeng South MP- elect.
He was wearing a very furious face and angry body gestures.
The two were seen in a footage trading words.
This brought other members to into the fray.
From an exchange of words between two MPs elect to the whole house turning into a battle ground.
Some members were ever ready to trade blows had it not been for the timely intervention of their colleagues.
It was such an ugly scene from the live footage.
To the extent that the military had to come in.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) claims majority and had assumed the front seats, where the majority should seat before the New Patriotic Party’s MPs elect could arrive.
This could be the foundation of the angry exchanges between the members elect.
