The president of the republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo in his 21st address/ updates on the covid-19 pandemic asked all schools to reopen this year.
With every level of school and their respective dates of reopening.
Per this new diretive, the University of Education, Winneba(UEW) have asked all students to get ready for school.
The Demand the school makes from the final year students is what is turning many heads.
One would expect, as being done in other schools that the school’s leadership will consider students in charging fees for this semester, having witnessed how grandly the pandemic affected everyone’s economic activities.
Notwithstanding, the time frame for payment is very insensitive.
Every Final Year Student who will go on internship has to pay GH¢1517.00 or more before 8th January.
Failure on the part of any final year student to make payment before the said deadline will mean forfeiting the internship.
An intern needs a book which is named ” The Yellow Book ” before he or she can go to his or her station.
One’s inability to pay the school fees in full before 8th January denies him or her of the book.
Failure to get book would mean that the said students wouldn’t graduate with their colleagues.
He or she would have basically wasted 4 years running up and down for chairs and peeping from outside lecture halls just to catch glimpses of lectures
“All interns are hereby expected to report on Saturday the 9th day of January, 2021. Submit their fees clearance forms in a barter trade with the yellow book.
Without this book, all your seventh semester academic work will be done in vain. Contact your course rep for more information about the yellow book. Pay your fees now in order to avoid _rush hour” the school said in a communique.
Lots of the Final Year students are not happy with how the school is treating them.
Do you think UEW’s treatment of final year students is unfair?
Let’s have your thoughts in the comment section.
