Thrilling Shiver: Ghana’s Emmanuel Gyasi Opens Up On His Friendship With Christiano Ronaldo

Promising Ghana international and leading striker of newly promoted Serie A side, Spezia, Emmanuel has revealed how shocked he was when Portuguese striker, Christiano Renaldo recognized him.

The two first met in a Series A match between Juventus and Spezia, the later which the young Ghanaian striker plays for.

According to the 27-year old, he appraoched the Portuguese star and requested for his jersey but he couldn’t get it on that day because probably somebody had asked for it.

“I remember in the first game, I went to him and spoke with him, but unfortunately he couldn’t give me the jersey.” Gyasi said in an interview with Joy Sports.

Gyasi was however lucky to meet him again in the return leg where a Christiano Ronaldo led Juventus beat his side by 3 goals to nothing.

Even though his team lost, Gyasi won; He got to meet his idol again and this time his heart desire of grabbing a CR7 jersey was fulfilled.

As he told Joy Sports, the Portuguese captain approached him and reassured him he would be getting his jersey.

“In the second game before we started the game, he just came to me and asked ‘Gyasi, how are you?’ I was shocked, he remembered me”,

“I was shocked because how can a whole Cristiano Ronaldo remember me because it has been a long time. Home and away games have a long time gap between them, so maybe he could forget that he promised a jersey.”

“When he came and he hugged me, and asked how I was doing, I was very happy. Very very happy,” Gyasi added.

He continued to say that he was however skeptical about getting the jersey at half time because Ronaldo and his team struggled to get a goal pass them(Spezia) before the first half.

The situation he said made Ronaldo very nervous as he hurried down the tunnel.

He was however shocked again that Ronaldo waited for him in his(Gyasi’s) dressing room and gave him the jersey.

“During the game he was nervous because in the first half we [Spezia] played very well and it was 0-0. He had hit the cross bar and I saw him run into the tunnel after the first half so I thought I was not going to get the jersey but I saw him waiting for me in my dressing room and I was shocked”,

“After the game, we met in the dressing room and had a chat. He’s a very great player and a great person.”

Ghanaians will be hoping to seeing the benefits of Gyasi’s friendship with the five times Balloon D’or winner showing on the pitch.

Gyasi possessing half of Ronaldo’s football qualities will be enough to solve the Blackstar’s striking problems and it will be a long-term Asamoah Gyan replacement.
