The lawyers in the election 2021 petitions hearing have been in a serious tussle over whether the case by the legal head of the petitioner, Tsatsu Tsikata over subpoenaing the chairperson of the Electoral Commission to mount the with box.
The finality of the case was determined today when the case was dismissed with the explanation that both petitioners and the respondents had earlier ended calling any witness for cross-examination.
Moreover, their case was dismissed on the grounds that it is unconstitutional to call the Electoral Commissioner to answer questions especially on matters relating to the exercise of his or her duty.
Dr. Dominic Ayine who wasn’t happy with the court’s decision to dismiss the case said that the behaviors of the judges seemed as if there was a predetermined agenda to dismiss the case.
According to him, the supreme Court failed to fully appreciate their case of five.
He is down founded over why the supreme Court decided to focus on just one out of their five concerns.
His comment has been tagged by some NPP folks as a contempt of court.
That however will probably be determined when the court meets again.
