Shatta Wale has been nominated at the IRAWMA Music Award, 2019, ‘Afrobeat artiste of the year and ‘GRINGO’ Video of the year’ .
37th Annual International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA), coming on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Pegasus Hotel, 82 Knutsford Blvd, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies.
Ghana’s Dancehall Artist, Shatta Wale who previously has won the prestigious award, Best New Entertainer in 2014, Best African Song/Entertainer – Chop Kiss in 2015, has again been nominated. The music video which was directed by Sesan is undoubtedly one of the popular music videos emerged on the continent in 2018 and deserve such a recognition.
SHATTA WALE has already won his first international award from Ugandan’s HiPipo MUSIC AWARDS, with his last year’s biggest dancehall song ‘GRINGO’ which made waves across borders, both locally and internationally as ‘BEST AFRICAN MUSIC VIDEO’, with that same song gotten nomination at the coming up IRAWMA 2019, if he wins, add up to a catalogue of awards Gringo video had already won since it’s released in 2018.
Jamaica the land of Reggae, will be the host country for 37th Annual International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA) 2019. Olivia “Babsy” Grange, the coveted red carpet IRAWMA celebration will be held at the Pegasus Hotel, New Kingston, Jamaica on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
Ephraim Martin, President of Martin’s International made the official announcement at a Press Launch, at JamPro in Kingston, Jamaica. The 2019 IRAWMA will honor the best of reggae and world music for the year 2018, and will salute “TheReggae50”, fifty years of Reggae from 1968/69 to present.
