Shatta Wale Grabs His 7th IRAWMA Nomination; Grapple With Caribbean’s Top Dawgs, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Capleton And Others

Shatta Wale has been nominated at the International Reggae And World Music Award, 2021.

The 1Don hitmaker grabs two nominations to his credit, Best African Dancehall Entertainer and Best Virtual Entertainer Of The Year.

The first includes his Ghanaian counterpart, Stonebwoy, Buffalo Souljah and Winky D from South Africa and Zambia respectively and Patoranking, Nigeria.

The later category includes Bennie Man and Bounty Killa, Capleton, Buju Banton, Verzuz, Agent Sasco all from Jamaica and Shatta Wale from Ghana.

These two current nominations from 39th IRAWMA, 2021 takes his total nominations to seven(7).

Ghana’s Dancehall Artist, Shatta Wale who previously won the prestigious awards, Best New Entertainer in 2014, Best African Song/Entertainer – Chop Kiss in 2015.

In 2018 the International Reggae And World Music Awards’ body awarded Shatta Wale for his immense contribution towards Africa’s reggae and dancehall genre.

In 2019 he also won best music Video with Gringo and Best Afrobeat Entertainer over Stonebwoy, Davido and the rest.

And that took his total awards to five(5) out of the previous five nominations.

The International Reggae And World Music (IRAWMA), established in 1982, is to acknowledge and honor the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists, including: songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians.
