Sarkodie IS A Very Lonely Guy- Isaac Kyei Andoh Writes

Asaase Soundz clash between our two top Dancehall Artist is a novelty, you can talk about the fact that it was more of my hits against your hits than a lyrical battle as it was made out to be.

It has to be extended to cut across all genres. Sadly, hiplife would be left out because there is competition between the best in the game and the 1 runner-up.

You see, we can do same for highlife, King Promise vs Kwame Eugene, Kofi Kinaata vs Kwame Eugene or Kiddie vs Kwame Eugene and we will have a competitive much up.

We can do MzVee vs Wendy Shay and it wont be a mismatch.

Same can be said of Gospel.

When it comes to rap though, Sarkodie looks like a lonely guy at the top, the distance between him and the next guy in terms of hit makes every call for a battle a complete disrespect.

How many rappers currently active in the game can you look to as capable of matching Sark with 40 hit songs like Shata and Stone did?

None.

Sadly, we can’t have a rap battle involving Ghana’s finest because the chasing pack have not been competitive over long spells.

Hate it or love it, find all the excuses you want: Sark is alone at the top with the others far behind.

Sadly, we won’t see a clash for the rap genre. Stonebwoy and Shata will be parting away with some good cash, any exciting pairing should generate substantial revenue for all involved.

Sark is going to miss out on this cash because he has made his genre week by being too strong.

In terms of free style and outright rap battle, I know Yaa Pono will give him a run for his money but he doesn’t have the pedigree for such a much up. Remember this is not a rap battle, this is your hit against my hit.

The rest are either great lyricists with few hit songs.

Before you argue, name an active rapper in Ghana who has 40 household hits?

Obidi is alone at the top
