The president of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo will today commission a new built warehouse at Ejura-Sekyeedumase.
As promised them in the year 2017, the sitting president through his flagship programme for the revival of Ghanaian agriculture dubbed ‘Planting for food and jobs’ has fulfilled his promised and the commissioning will take place hours ahead of us today.
Post-harvest loss is a problem for farmers in one of the ‘food basket’ of the nation- Ejura, in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Farmers in this area have always had to cheaply sell out their farm produce for fear of disposing the produce, due to lack of storage facilities.
Responding to the cries of the farmers and complementing government flagship program; Planting for Food and Job (PFJ). The Government rolled out another policy dubbed; 1 district 1 warehouse. Pursuant to that, on 18th October,2017, launching the World food Day cum 1D1W, the president of the republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danguah Akuffo Addo, cut sod for the construction of 2 Warehouses in Ejura, Ashanti Region.
The project is aiming at alleviating the plight of farmers regarding post-harvest losses and help make farming more attractive and lucrative to all.
In light of this, the President of the republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, on Thursday, the 10th of October , will among other things commissions the 2 warehouses in the Ejura-Sekyedumase municipality.
