NPP Is Struggling To Be Relevant In Parliament, Tables A Motion To Shift The Sitting Time

The outcome of the 2020 Parliamentary elections has brought a lot of dynamics into the 8th Parliament.

Both party caucuses in the 8th Parliament of the 4th republic have 137 each.

Even though the only Independent member has officially declared his intention to do business with the NPP, they are still struggling.

This is mainly because per the demands of the 1992 constitution of the republic of Ghana, majority of the ministers should be appointed from Parliament.

Ministers of state wouldn’t always be in the house.

The NPP however thinks that shifting the time from the usual 3pm to 4pm will be more suitable for NPP MPs who double as ministers.
