Students of popular media tertiary school, Ghana Institute Of Journalism (GIJ) are set to demonstrate against management after it has asked them to defer their Programmes.
The management of the school set the deadline date for registration for the 2020/2021 academic year to end on Sunday, 27 December 2020 after it was extended from the initial Friday, 11 December 2020.
A new communiquè by the Management of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has been issued, directing students who failed to pay their fees before the slated deadline to defer their programmes of study.
The car by management has been deemed very irrational by many having considered the emergence the novel Covid-19 and its associated devastating economic consequences.
The students have led a protest against the management’s decision with the hashtag #JusticeForGIJStudents and have gotten the public sympathy they seek. The public is currently mounting pressure on the public educational institution to rescind its decision.
The students are also set to demonstrate tomorrow. They will hit the campus in their black and red attires.
