Bye To 27 Year Old Internet Explorer As It Retires In June 2022.

Microsoft’s first web browser, Internet Explorer, is officially shutting down on June 15 after nearly 27 years of operation. The tech giant made a statement last year announcing the move. Adding that it would push users to employ its newer browser, Microsoft Edge.

‘Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, but more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer. It is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications,’ Sean Lyndersay, Microsoft Edge Enterprise general manager, said in the May 2021 statement.

The death of Internet Explorer is sad. Future generations will never know the joy of clicking on the blue ‘E’ icon on their new computer. Clicking on the blue button that says, “download Chrome,” waiting for the bar to fill up, then hitting the X in the top right corner, then right-clicking on the blue e, and then clicking on ”delete shortcut.” After that, emptying the recycle bin, and making sure it was gone.
