Amazing feat as A Chilean lady breaks two World Swimming Records.

Bárbara Hernández a Chilean lady just broke two world records after successfully swimming the ‘Drake Passage’. It is a body of water at the southern tip of the country Chile that connects the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

Miss Hernández, who is known as the ‘ice mermaid,’ was crowned with a Guinness World Record for the fastest mile swim of the Drake Passage at a time of just 15 minutes and 3 seconds.

Hernández was also recognized as the first person to swim 3 nautical miles (approx 3.4 miles) between the oceans. That feat took her a total of 55 minutes and 17 seconds.

The ‘Drake Passage’ is known for its rough surf and freezing waters. The temperatures Barbara swam in were estimated to be approx 44°F. She was not allowed to wear a wetsuit during the endeavour. She wasn’t permitted to receive assistance from the Chilean Navy, which was closely monitoring her throughout the attempt.

Who is ever going to break Barbara Hernandez’s record pretty soon?

Congratulations to Barbara for setting a new world record.
