It is very true that Dancehall is one of the genres that are really fast trending and being streamed or listened to across the globe.

Shatta Wale from Ghana is the only artiste who made it to the list.

1. Vybz Kartel

Adidja Azim Palmer popularly known as Vybz Kartel , is a Jamaican dancehall artist. 2. Sean Paul

Sean Paul Francis Henriques is a Jamaican rapper, singer and record producer. His hit singles “Get Busy” and “Temperature” topped the charts in the United States, and most of his albums have been nominated for the Grammy’s Best Reggae Album, with Dutty Rock winning the award.

3. Shaggy

Winston Foster, better known by the stage name Yellowman, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall artistes. He is also known as King Yellowman.
He had success in 1987 with a version of “Blueberry Hill”, that topped the charts for several weeks in Jamaica.
By the mid-1990s, Yellowman released socially conscious material, rising to international fame along with singers such as Buju Banton. Yellowman became the island’s most popular deejay. During the early 1980s, Yellowman had over 40 singles and produced up to five albums per year.
He re-invented himself with his 1994 album Prayer, which stepped away from the slackness that gave him his initial fame. His latest albums are New York (2003) and Round 1 (2005). Yellowman was also a featured guest vocalist on the Run-DMC track “Roots Rap Reggae”.

Grace Latoya Hamilton known professionally as Spice, is a Jamaican dancehall recording artist, singer and songwriter. Her hit tracks include Romping Shop, complain and right there.
In 2018, Spice joined the cast of VH1’s reality TV show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. That year, she revealed that she is in a legal dispute with VP Records over the release of her debut album.


Spice eventually released a mixtape titled Captured, which is her first full-length release, on 2 November 2018, under her own record label Spice Official Entertainment. The same day, she released the music video for her single “Under Fire”, which is featured on the mixtape. Captured debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.


Its lead single “Black Hypocrisy”, which addresses the issue of colorism, also debuted at number one on the Reggae Digital Song Sales chart. Other singles from the mixtape such as “Romantic Mood”, “Cool It” and “Genie”, were released with accompanying music videos

20. Shatta Wale

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr popularly known as Shatta Wale is a Ghanaian Afro Dancehall artiste. He was formerly known as Bandana before he re-branded to become Shatta Wale. The Dancehall artiste is also known as the African dancehall king who has recently got his Afro pop features with Beyonce, he has also  features Jamaican dancehall musicians like Alkaline, Konshens, Tommy Lee Spartans, and many others so he  is considered as the Dancehall king in Africa.  He is Five (5)times International Reggae And World Music Award winner, have several awards both local and international. The most decorated artiste in Ghana.


In 2014, he peaked number 38 on E.tv’s “Top 100 Most Influential Ghanaian” Awards chart. He has since appeared on the chart each year. He was ranked “Most Influential Musician” on social media in 2017. He won 8 awards at the 3music awards in 2019 and also the most awarded dance hall artist in Africa.
He released his third album, Reign, on October 13 at the Fantasy Dome in Accra. The album achieved a record for a Ghanaian act by appearing on the Billboard Top World Albums Chart, placing sixth
