The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo during the 2019 State of the Nation Address, announced the venue for this years’ 62nd Independence Day Celebration.
Delivering the 2019 State of the Nation Address made known the government’s decision to move Ghana’s 2019 Independence Day Celebration to the Northern Regional capital, Tamale
According to President Akuffo Addo, the decision taken is to ensure that the Unity and tranquility now at the Dagbon will congeal. It will be first time in the country history the independence anniversary is going to be held outside Accra.
The president of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo stated:
“In order to reinforce and support the process of reconciliation and the restoration of peace in dagbon, I have decided that this year, the 62nd Independence Day celebration will be held in Tamale on 6th March”credit: Maame Dede
